The world is ending.
There are fires and floods
Disaster and disease
Confederate flags making their way
Through halls that are supposed to be democratic
And few are held accountable for the fallout.
Our children are growing up
In conditions that we struggle to accept
And we are helping them in the way we know how
But it is not enough.
The events of the world are closing us in
And advancing into chaos
At a pace we cannot hold back.
We are hostage to whatever will happen.
God, we have prayed our hearts out.
We have prayed all of the words that fit
And many more that don’t.
God, bring your justice and peace
To our broken world.
A blessing for when it all hangs in the balance
