God of courage
Be with those
Who are sharing their truth
Surround them with affirmations
The love of friends and family
Remind the family who are uncertain
That we do not need to understand
In order to love
Remind us all
That self knowledge
Is its own form of grace
Its own divine gift
And hard-won
Grant us the imagination
To see those who have come out
As happy
To share in their joy
To center their celebration
Regardless of our feelings
Let us hear this news
As deeply good
And affirm this coming out
As an act of salvation
May we see the dignity and humanity
Of all of our siblings in God.
